For 12 weeks in 2012, I conducted an experiment to design the ‘World's First Facebook Ring’. Fans of my company Facebook page were able to participate in various design decisions. Those decisions led to the creation of this stunning piece - a completely unique piece of jewellery.
The diamond is held in clear view and the setting is designed to show off as many surfaces of the stone as possible. Perfectly suited as an engagement ring – flat edged wedding and eternity rings would fit perfectly alongside but it works just as well as a stunning yet simple diamond ring. The choice of an Asscher cut shows us that Art-Deco styling has timeless appeal.
The experiment goes to show that the choice of the people is not necessarily about brilliance and dazzle, but more about understated elegance.
