THREE STONES ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Three Stones Engagement Rings can represent whatever you wish however the traditional symbolism is Past, Present, and Future - The centre and usually larger stone representing Present and the two remaining stones Past and Future. They are such a wonderful alternative to the halo or solitaire ring and the symbolism coupled with the distinct look makes this style very desirable.
The concept of 3-stone engagement rings regardless of the occasion has a long history dating back to pre-history. While it's difficult to pinpoint the "first" recorded three-stone ring, these rings have been used throughout history to symbolize various aspects of relationships and have appeared in different cultures and time periods.
The specific origin of the first three-stone engagement ring is difficult to determine, but the concept of using multiple stones to represent different aspects of a relationship has been around for a very long time and has evolved over the centuries. A popular approach is to have a colored center gem such as a sapphire, and then two diamonds at the side. This works wonderfully to enhance the color of the center stone but also involves a spectacular contrast within the piece.
The first of the Andrew Geoghegan Three Stones Engagement Rings has a very different look from the Cannele Trois as you can see from the image below. This is the Suspension Trilogy ring - very minimal and simple as suited to Andrew's style in the early noughties.
